I need to laugh and when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about
I feel good in a special way
I'm in love and it's a sunny day
Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine
We take a walk, the sun is shining down
Burns my feet as they touch the ground
Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine
Then we'd lie beneath the shady tree
I love her and she's loving me
She feels good, she knows she's looking fine
I'm so proud to know that she is mine.
Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine
~ Beatles (of course)
Was thinking about the name of my blog today and I had to laugh at the irony. Then I went to look up irony in case I was using the wrong word.
Main Entry: iro·nyIt sort of fits, right? And it definitely feels like Vancouver has had less rainy days than usual. For the 5th time in as many days, the sunrise showed up and stopped me dead in my sleepy tracks. My first thought was to photograph it, but we were running late so I didn't chance aggravating my darling spouse. But really, you should have seen it! This sunrise was straight out of a little kid's crayon box, a no-holding-back blend of scarlet, brick red, red orange, unmellow yellow, all against a sky running the gamut of midnight blue, blue violet, indigo and denim. Throw in a few darkened buildings, some haze and the reflection off the roof of BC place and there you have it.

I've been itching to draw it all day, before it fades from memory.
The sunshine (and some caffeine) have put a bounce in my step and some sass in my attitude. After days of feeling down, this is a welcome feeling!
