Maybe This Wasn't Such a Good Idea

Tags: , , .

I must be a glutton for punishment. Two days after finishing the darling boy's scarf, my fingers started itching to work on something new, something that wasn't the sweater I'd just taken apart and snarled at in disgust.

Now it just so happens that I've 10 skeins of newly purchased inexpensive chocolate brown yarn to play with, so I've decided to upgrade the skills a little and work on learning some more intricate cables. I cast (heh) blame for this on the Alice Starmore Aran Knitting book I borrowed from the library. She's inspired me to try something more complicated. When I feel more confident i might splurge and invest in some of the lovely yarn her site offers.

I wonder what kind of wine goes with this type of work? Is there a standard, much like white goes with chicken, red with roast? Would a nice optimistic little Rosé do the trick? I hope so. Although I have to wonder how foolhardy it is to do the necessary calculations while quaffing wine.

And in a moment of pure ego, might I point you to my latest post at Tanya's blog?

If you have a great yarn place in Van then do tell! I have high knitting hopes this year as well! :)

Oh yes, I think Rose' would be a fine wine for knitting! And if that doesn't work try a little Brandy!

Funny you should mention mittens - I'm searching for the perfect pattern right now - I want mittens I can fold back if I need my fingers free for anything, like dialing my cell phone or scrambling for my keys.
