I've just finished Day 2 of the Wild Rose D-Tox diet. I wasn't going to write about this, but today's shopping experience was truly eye-opening. It took us just under 3 hours and required a visit to 4 different places. This is with us being completely organized - menu plan set, list in hand!
We spent hours going up and down grocery aisles reading labels (why do so many companies add sugar to their diced canned tomatoes?) and figuring out alternatives. Did you know that the average pre-packaged container of veggies or fresh herbs costs 2 - 3 times the amount of the same item bought from a local produce store? And if you ever shop for spices, do yourself a favour and buy bulk. $3.99 for a dollar's worth of something is robbery!
So far, the only real cravings I've had are for the quebecois fudge my sweetie gets for me from the local IGA, and fruit popsicles, but they've been more of the "I wish I could have that" rather than the "I MUST have it NOW" kind of cravings. I'm hoping it doesn't escalate past this level.
Ten more days to go...

Good luck. As you know I am always on a diet. I think I should just change my middle name to Maribeth "Always On A Diet". What do you think?
Thanks for the well wishes.
Lately there have been a lot of adjustments to my diet, trying to find a way to stay healthy AND not spend every waking hour in the kitchen...
